2017 A Level and BTEC results for Framwellgate School Durham students will set them up for a bright future.
Individual academic successes again included many straight A*/A and Distinction grades. More than a fifth of A level grades were A*/A and 97% of BTEC grades were Distinction or higher.
In a year of turbulence in the examination system, with harder exams and unpredictable thresholds, it is pleasing to see their hard work has paid off. Framwellgate School Durham has an excellent record of students progressing to their university of choice and this year is no exception including those setting off to Oxford, Durham, Newcastle and other of the country’s top institutions.
Becky Maughan who is heading to Liverpool to study aerospace engineering was really pleased with her results and excited to see her friends getting their grades. She said she was ‘hugely appreciative of the opportunities and support the school had given her’ and had a ‘fantastic experience at Sixth Form.’
Leeane Mersh-Roberts (Head of Sixth Form) added that ‘Fram Sixth Form often brings out the best in students’ and that ‘Becky was one of many who have achieved, through opportunities like the internship programme, more than they would have thought possible when they first enrolled.’
Sixth Form enrolment will take place on GCSE results day (24th August) from 9:00 a.m.
Students applying from schools other than Framwellgate School Durham should contact Leeane Mersh-Roberts by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or telephoning the school on 0191 3866628.
