Sixth Formers are the senior learners at Framwellgate School Durham and the expectations on them to present themselves as role models are high. This includes conduct, appearance and contribution to the school community. As learners, they need to be organised, motivated and prepared for lessons. As individuals they should be taking opportunities to extend learning, develop wider interests and demonstrate leadership.
Sixth Form students are expected to dress in a manner appropriate to a workplace/business setting. For A level and BTEC Health students the preferred clothing would be a sensible plain top with a collar, dark trousers (grey, blue or black) and sensible footwear fit for a working environment. Those following the BTEC Sports qualification and members of the Sports Tutor group will have their own uniform in line with the expectations of that course.
If students experience difficulty in paying for the required clothing, applications for the bursary fund are available. Students will be expected to dress in a more formal manner for meetings with school stakeholders such as parents, governors, outside visitors etc.
